Harris Tweed Landscape and Abstract Swatches

This work was inspired by a visit to the Isle of Harris in November 2022. I was struck by the way the colours, contours and textures of the landscape were reflected in the famous local tweed which is made by the Islanders. On my return to England I contacted several suppliers of Harris Tweed and asked if they could send me some samples which they very kindly did. I have photographed these samples and entwined and blended these images into the landscape and abstract images I took while in Harris. They represent to me the original Harris Swatches.
